SHOOTING STARS

These classes progress in difficulty for three levels:  Shooting Stars I, II, and III. This progression is over a three year span.  Your dancer chooses from Ballet, Tap, Jazz and HipHop or can take all four.  These classes teach primary steps, terminology, theory and the correct technique required to advance into the next level of classes. Shooting Star Ballet students will have the opportunity to partake in Cecchetti Primary Exams to help assist them in preparation for their future Grade I exam. All Shooting Star Classes are performance classes.  Performance is optional.  STUDENTS MUST BE 5 YEARS OF AGE BY SEPTEMBER 1ST.

SHOOTING STARS DRESS CODE

Ballet 

Girls - Hair must be securely fastened in a bun for all ballet classes. Shooting Star dancers are to wear any solid color leotard, pink ballet slippers (Bloch, Capezio or Revolution brand recommended) and pink tights are required. A modest dance skirt may be worn in class.

Boys - Wear black tights, white t-shirt, dance belt and black ballet slippers.

JAZZ

Girls - Hair must be securely fastened in a ponytail or french braid. Shooting Star dancers are to wear any solid color leotard, black slip-on jazz shoes (Bloch, Capezio or Revolution brands recommended) and tan or pink tights required. NO NYLONS! A modest dance skirt may be worn in class.

Boys - Wear jazz pants, t-shirt or tank top, dance belt and black jazz shoes.

TAP

Girls – Hair must be securely fastened in a ponytail or french braid. Shooting Star dancers are to wear any solid color leotard, tan or pink tights, and black buckled or slip on tap shoes required. NO NYLONS! A modest dance skirt may be worn in class.

Boys - Wear comfortable street clothes and black tap shoes.

SHOOTING STAR HIP HOP

Hip Hop explores how to dance to a wide variety of beats and rhythms. As the levels progress, the class  incorporates all the styles, like breaking, locking and popping.  You will learn to coordinate movement to the current fast paced music with all the up-to-date moves.

HIP HOP DRESS CODE

Girls - Hair is  to be pulled back  in a pony tail.  You may wear any color leotard and tights or baggy pants. If you wear a shirt, you must wear a fitted top or leotard under it, as they tend to ride up.  Knee pads and tennis shoes that are NEVER worn outside are also required.  

Boys - Wear comfortable clothes, knee pads, tennis shoes that are NEVER worn outside.
